Writing Metrics for September 25, 2010

Somewhat to my astonishment, I managed to write 388 words today. A pitifully small number, true, but considering that I was out and about from 9:00 this morning until 6:30 tonight, with lots of driving and thinking and socializing in between, and after only five hours of sleep, even that number is quite an example of how stubborn I can be when I set my mind on something. I hope that you'll be able to read the review I wrote yesterday and today sometime tomorrow.

I did literally no novel reading at all today. I did watch Episode III of Star Wars, and I must say, I really should have spent the time reading. What dreadful dialogue! What happened to George Lucas between the first trilogy he wrote and the next batch? It makes me want to write a screenplay, because really, who couldn't compete with that?

I need to write a few more reviews to catch up on books overdue at the library -- really, my library loves me, because I'm always racking up fines and promptly paying them, allowing them to buy more books, and really, that's fine with me. It may be another day when getting the word count in is kind of dicey, as we're planning a trip to Santa Cruz for the principal purpose of selling books to Logos Books downtown. Yes! We're actually attempting a cull! Hard to believe, I know, and even with four bags of books and a box of videotapes, it hardly makes a dent, but for us this is major. (Whether we get out of the store without having spent 100% of what we get for our books on other, different books is entirely up for grabs right now. Place your bets.)
