Writing Metrics for December 1, 2010

It seems it's either feast or famine around here. Saturday I wrote 3,000+ words; Monday I wrote nothing. Tuesday I wrote 1,000+ words; Wednesday I wrote nothing. I suspect that getting far less sleep than I need on Tuesday night had something to do with that, as I spent much of Wednesday afternoon making up that sleep. Nonetheless, if there really is such a pattern, today should be a flood day, right?

I read about 50 pages yesterday, also below average. I hope to make up for that today, and so far, so good.

Two new books came in the mail, both of which look interesting and different and fun to read. Stefan Petrucha sent me his latest novel, Blood Prophecy, the story of Jeremiah Fall who is seeking his lost humanity. Thanks, Mr. Petrucha, for your thoughtfulness. Pyr sent me Tim Akers' new novel, The Horns of Ruin, which is described as "the first perfect merger and steampunk and sword and sorcery," and what could be better than that? Thanks, Pyr; you're really pushing out a good bit of interesting fantasy. If I ever write one, I'm sending it to you first.

Hum...

Pry's pitch certain piqued my curiosity. (I struggled a bit to work around the alliteration, but I'm too tired to try anymore... )

Chad's Alliteration

I thought it was pretty good! And the "steampunk-sword-and-sorcery" sounds fun too.
