Writing Metrics for February 28-March 1, 2011

In the last two days, I've written 3,677 words, but alas, they were all legal words that don't really count toward my totals -- though I'm starting to rethink that particular rule. I read two stories in the new Realms of Fantasy yesterday, and another two the day before, but that's pretty much all the reading I've gotten done.

Maintaining some balance in my life while my work increases is very difficult for me. It's led to some very bad times in the past, times I don't want to revisit. Besides, my priorities have changed. These days, I work to live, not vice versa; my heart is in my book reviewing, scholarly work and writing. So I'm being as careful as I can be, but until March 20 or so, it's going to be tough.

I did make room for my screenwriting course last night, and I'm rather proud of myself for doing that. Because I'm auditing the course, the professor had said that my screenplay wouldn't be workshopped -- but a slot has opened, and I'll be workshopped next week (assuming I get the writing done, and by God, I will).

So, Gentle Readers, send me a jolt of inspiration and balance every now and then, okay? I accept all atmospheric good thoughts.

What's it About?

I'd love to see the screenplay--or at least know what the story's about. Writing when you also have a "real job" is all about the ebb and flow, so I wouldn't worry too much if the legal work shifts into the ascendency for a bit.

Memories

It's based on memoir, Marion. I might bring it to the group; haven't decided yet.

Intriguing!

I hope we do get to see it sometime, and I would be interested to know how your critique goes.
