I confess that this seems like a fairly odd list to me. Anyone have any thoughts?

Odd for a Sci-FI Award List

I confess that I haven't read any of them yet, but from the descriptions of the novels, only "The Seeker" seems like the classic sci-fi that I think of as deserving consideration. There is some romantic swordplay fantasy, what appears to be more of collection of short stories, a bit of old fashinoed pulp, a ghost story set in the 1930's and an alternate history. I've never seen how an alternate history qualifies as sci-fi, whether its post-WWII as here, or post Civil War. There usually is no science or magic, simply a reimagined fictional universe that follows a different course of events than history provides.
