My review of Gary McMahon's horror novel, The Concrete Grove is up at Fantasy Literature. McMahon has no pity at all on his viewpoint characters, who are as evil and as good as any normal person -- certainly not worthy of the horrors, both existential and experiential, that befall them. It's a dark, scary book, and not for the faint of heart -- but anyone who loves a good horror novel should be reading this one.
